Talking to City Express, Janani says, “I play a proper village belle and Ashwin plays a wannabe actor in this film, which is a full-fledged comedy. There is satire in it, but then, that only constitutes a small portion. The film is about how a village, which has never seen a television before, reacts when they eventually get to know of its presence.”
The film, Janani says, will certainly not be preachy and definitely impress audiences. “Although Ashwin and I play the lead, there are other love stories that run parallel in the film. In fact, the film has six main characters and a number of other supportive characters,” says the actor, who discloses that work on the film is progressing at a brisk pace.
Stating that they have completed a major portion of the film, the actor says, “We’ve been shooting for long hours with very little time to rest. We will be shooting until May 10. We still have a song left to shoot for this film. Once that is done, the film is likely to hit screens this summer.”
Thollaikaatchi will not be the only film of the actor to hit screens this summer.
